Sustainable design and engineering
Integrated Design. Sustainable Engineering. Secure Future.
We believe in a future in which our environment is front and centre. In which architecture and technology merge so that we use resources responsibly. We see shaping the change necessary to make this happen as one of the defining tasks of the 21st century.
As the Lead Designer Plus, we take on the challenge of making your construction projects sustainable and future-ready in all areas – ensuring maximum reliability in terms of budget, timing and quality. Together with our strong network, we play a central role in supporting you on your journey towards a carbon-neutral future. Discover how we are already getting sustainability projects moving with new skills, bespoke solutions and the spirit of innovation!
3 approaches, 1 goal: balancing the needs of people and the environment
For us, sustainable design and engineering is based on three fundamental pillars: preserve limited resources, efficiently utilize energy and value the people. Underlying each of these focal points is a wide range of topics that are addressed by our architects, structural designers, MEP experts and infrastructure engineers. Our aim is to act in accordance with these principles in each of your projects in order to realise sustainable, efficient and needs-focused engineering strategies.

As the Lead Designer Plus, we support you in each of your sustainable planning and building tasks – just like we help you meet every challenge in a wide range of construction projects. Discover our extensive portfolio of services!
Preserve limited resources
In every construction project, we minimise resource consumption and negative environmental impacts through cautious planning and efficient solutions.
To mitigate the substantial consumption of resources associated with the construction and operation of buildings, we design our projects so that they have a long lifespan and can adapt flexibly to new requirements. We use environmentally friendly construction materials and water-efficient systems, while reducing or recycling building site waste. Throughout the construction process, we protect the air and soil as far as possible against contamination. Last but not least, environmental landscape design plays an important role by helping us create green spaces and preserve natural ecosystems.
Efficiently utilize energy
Our innovative planning ensures that energy can be efficiently generated, transported, stored and used in buildings and entire neighbourhoods alike.
With this in mind, we optimise building shells to minimise heating and cooling needs. We combine energy-efficient technical building services with advanced energy management to optimise carbon footprints. We plan large-scale urban structures to ensure that buildings, green spaces, traffic routes and means of transport have the smallest possible energy requirements. Respecting natural green infrastructure also helps us achieve this goal. In addition, we make use of sustainable energy sources and innovative grid development concepts to guarantee a continuous and environmentally friendly energy supply. Smart grids play a key role here by enabling optimal storage and distribution of energy.
Value the people
Construction projects should be centred on the needs of people rather than the building itself. Sustainable design and construction provides benefits for everyone – from users to builders.
For users, the results of our work primarily lead to enhanced quality of life. Their health and well-being are promoted by sustainable design, spaces to meet up in and access to nature. When working with builders, we focus on how the value of the property will develop. They benefit from long-term cost savings and a perceptible image gain. Other positive factors are financial incentives through subsidies and tax breaks for environmentally friendly approaches and technologies. We reconcile these different needs through balanced and flexible planning, effective communication with all stakeholders and innovative technical solutions.
Demands are changing. And we are changing with them.
The implementation of the German Buildings Energy Act (Gebäudeenergiegesetz, GEG) and the upcoming EU Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) presents new planning, architectural and bureaucratic challenges for every construction project.
We are already working on the journey to Germany-wide climate neutrality in 2045. To this end, our team has integrated the topic of sustainable design and engineering across each area of our organisation, enabling us to work together across all departments efficiently in a spirit of innovation and to ensure that sustainability expertise goes into every aspect of our work – including your project. We have set up an ongoing further training programme for our team and are also strategically recruiting new specialists with the right skills to help us support construction projects at all levels in accordance with the highest standards.
“I believe that sustainable planning and building will become the standard throughout the industry. Through our team, we are continuously amassing new knowledge and expertise to keep us one step ahead of the many changes taking place concurrently. This includes our ability to come up with new and innovative solutions time and again – since they are exactly what builders need to ensure profitable projects, now and in the future.”
Sustainability as standard:
our current projects.
Prove your building’s green credentials through successful certifications.
In addition to making an active contribution to environmental goals, certifications offer numerous other advantages, from increased property values and greater demand to longer life cycles for buildings.
Our team joins forces with partners to deliver the experience and qualifications needed to successfully obtain German and international certifications for your property.
Solving complex challenges together: our network for your project.
To be successful, sustainable construction projects require specialised knowledge that covers everything from laws and regulations to environmental management and technologies. That is why we strategically add to our team’s efforts by working closely with companies that are recognised in their fields.
Strategic partnerships provide direct access to expertise in dynamic areas such as subsidy management, energy concepts and energy distribution, life cycle assessments and life cycle costs or deep energy retrofit concepts. Our aim is to always incorporate the latest insights, best practices and technologies into your projects.
We believe that collaboration is the key to creating innovative, environmentally friendly and profitable solutions for the future.
