With over 360 employees, Julius Berger International is one of the largest engineering firms in the Rhine-Main metropolitan region. At the office in Wiesbaden, our team provides our clients with all of the integrated design and engineering services along with our supplementary services. For optimal organisation, the departments are split into the Design & Engineering department, tasked to handle the usual planning services, and the Tender & Project Support unit which takes care of construction-related services and project management. The management combines planning, project management, commercial matters, and digitalization to drive our company’s success.
Dr Björn Banholzer was born in Essen, Germany in 1973 and studied civil engineering at RWTH Aachen University, where he also completed his doctorate in 2005. He additionally gained an MSc in ‘Concrete Structures’ at Imperial College London. Dr Banholzer began his professional journey in 1997 at Schießl Raupach Consulting Engineering. His career at the Julius Berger Group began when he took up the position as Technical Project Manager in Wiesbaden in 2005 and in the following years was also active at Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in site management and later as Deputy Project Director and Head of Technical Internal Services. Since 2012, he has held various management positions in Wiesbaden, including Head of Project Management. In 2021, he took over the overall responsibility for the design and enginnering unit and, in this role, supported the strategic development of the company. In October 2024, Dr Banholzer was appointed as Managing Director Julius Berger International. He has also been a lecturer at RheinMain University of Applied Sciences for many years.
Martin Brack was born in Freiburg in 1963 and studied macroeconomics at the Albert-Ludwigs-University of Freiburg. In 1990, he began his professional career as certified economist at FOSTEC GmbH in Berlin, where he was responsible for handling all commercial activities. Between 1993 and 1996, he worked as a controller for Bilfinger Berger AG, before becoming head of controlling in 1996 and subsequently heading up commercial operations at GKW Group in Mannheim. He joined Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in 2000, where he would go on to hold a variety of management roles over the next 22 years. During his time there, he was responsible for the management of the commercial field service and took charge of all infrastructure, industrial, gas and oil projects before being appointed Financial Director of Julius Berger Nigeria Plc in 2017. In January 2022, Martin Brack took up the position as CFO at Julius Berger International GmbH in Wiesbaden and has been a member of the Management Board since then.
