I have a great capacity for spatial thinking
I am in my third year of training as a draughtswoman. After I applied via the careers portal, I was invited to a recruitment test and, to my delight, to an interview shortly afterwards. I always felt comfortable during both the test and the interview, even though I was very nervous.
My apprenticeship started with basic training, during which all new technical draughtsmen learnt the basics of manual drawing, which helped me a lot with the intermediate exam, as this is still partly manual. After two months, I went into the department. The apprenticeship also includes a twelve-week work placement. We are allowed to spend this on the training construction site, where we learn about bricklaying, surveying, road construction and other things. I am looked after by two trainers and several supervisors, who I can always go to if I have any concerns or questions.

It is always being built. This is an important field.
I joined Julius Berger International a good two years ago as part of my Master's thesis and was taken on as an engineer in the Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning Technology department after graduating. As a working student, I was immediately involved in the projects in my department and was able to use the time optimally to prepare for my later work as an engineer.
Onboarding began after graduation. I was given the opportunity to complete two further training courses to become an energy consultant for residential and non-residential buildings and was soon able to start working on my own projects. My experienced colleagues and my mentor were there to support me at all times.
I like the variety in my work. There is no one-size-fits-all solution for every project. That makes the work very exciting.
