Further training & personal development
We assist and support our employees on their career pathways as best we can by offering technical training in specific areas as well as personal development programmes for individual employees. As part of our efforts to optimise our training activities, we set up the Julius Berger Academy to provide strategically important and well-structured training courses for Julius Berger International and Julius Berger Nigeria Plc employees. The catalogue of courses is available on our intranet system, allowing employees to pick out the training programmes that are right for them in partnership with the management team.

Trust-based working hours:
We offer fully flexible working hours that you can agree individually with your manager. There is no clocking in or clocking out; our working relationship is built on trust. Julius Berger International has core working hours of 9:00 am to 3:00 pm, with any overtime being credited of course.

Onboarding: joining Julius Berger International

Before your start.
It’s all about preparation.Before your start.
Once we have completed all the formalities regarding your contract, it’s time to start the onboarding process. Your future department will be notified that you will be joining them, and we will choose a mentor to support you over the next few months and answer any questions or help rectify any difficulties you may have. You will receive an email from us containing your welcome voucher for our in-house health centre and get to know your mentor before you even step through the door. We will set up your workspace and draw up an individual induction plan.

Your first day at work.
Now the time has come.Your first day at work.
Now the time has come to welcome you to the Julius Berger family! Before you begin your first day of work, we will check to make sure everything is as it should be. We pick you up from reception and show you to your new workspace, provide you with all the materials you need, check your systems are working properly and take a tour around your department. You then have the opportunity to ask any questions you may have in an in-depth meeting. We will then show you around the rest of the building and register you with human resources.

The induction process begins.Your first week.
We spend the first week introducing you to all the programmes and processes you will use, as well as the company, our philosophy and our culture. What’s more, we also provide a comprehensive induction in your specific area of activity. During this phase you will also attend general training courses. We will give you some feedback on your first set of tasks, introduce you to the range of training courses offered as part of the Julius Berger Academy and together determine where there is potential for upskilling.

In the next weeks and months, you will get to know more of the company’s departments and attend our welcome event. You are now proficient in your area of activity and can take care of your tasks independently. We will continue to monitor any need for further training and arrange our first feedback meeting after a period of three months.
