Group headquarters HeidelbergCement in Heidelberg, Germany

Julius Berger International was contracted to support planning works for the new headquarters of HeidelbergCement AG. The new office complex features an impressive use of state-of-the-art materials, the implementation of extraordinary building designs and cutting edge technologies. The complex comprises several five- to seven-storey interlinked buildings spread across a gross floor area of around 49,000 m², and provides office capacity for up to 1,000 employees.

The provider of integrated design and engineering services appointed by HeidelbergCement, awarded Julius Berger International the contract to continue the planning services for HOAI phases 1 to 4 for the trades of technical building services from a predecessor design office and also to carry out the services for work phases 5 to 8. Julius Berger International engineers delivered effectively on the most stringent requirements for air conditioning, sanitary and electrical engineering as well as for building control and media technology.

Thanks to an innovative energy efficiency design concept, the new headquarters of the building materials group achieved the highest certification category of the German Sustainable Building Council.
