Prestige project FRANKFURT WESTSIDE

FRANKFURT WESTSIDE is one of the most outstanding urban development projects in the Rhine-Main region. The 71-hectare commercial and industrial quarter combines tradition and innovation. The visionary project combines state-of-the-art working environments from a wide range of sectors and various leisure facilities at a location steeped in history.

The preservation of existing structures, an open space design with a focus on biodiversity and climate resilience as well as the intelligent integration of renewable energies, mobility systems and the waste heat from neighbouring data centres for emission-free heating of the entire district turn FRANKFURT WESTSIDE into a showcase project in the field of sustainable construction.

Julius Berger International was commissioned by BEOS AG, the project developer and owner, at the stage of execution planning and contract award preparation for the development measure for ‘value engineering’ in order to uncover cost and quality potentials in the planning of third-party engineering offices and to realise them jointly.

The main focus was on the trades wastewater, rainwater, drinking water and transport systems. In addition to the technical inspection in accordance with the applicable regulations, the spatial coordination of all trades, including river water, power and data cables, was crucial in order to prevent potential collisions along the routes and ensure compliance with the minimum distances. The specifications were also checked for completeness, materials and plausible quantities in order to maximise quality and cost certainty for the client.

BEOS AG was able to rely on our sound understanding of the practical requirements on the construction site at all times. The efficiency of our office and the flexibility of the team helped to keep to the tight schedule and ensure a smooth transition to the construction phase.
