Unloading platform in Lagos, Nigeria
- Structural design
- Foundation engineering
The platform in the port of Lagos improves the unloading efficiency of petroleum products (mainly premium motor spirit), which are conveyed to the onshore tanks through a pipeline buried 25 meters below seabed of the Commodore Channel.
Alongside the platform itself, dolphins and catwalks had to be designed, and the mooring appurtenances as well as the materials handling had to be integrated into the structural design.
The platform can facilitate tankers up to 45,000 dwt and 210 m length and allows a draught of 13.5 m.
