The construction of the new offices for the members of staff of the Nigerian government is being executed in three construction stages, the first two of which were completed in 2009. The third is currently at design stage.
The new 5-storey buildings surround the existing plenary chambers of the Senate and the House of Representatives, which are located in the edifice built in 1999.
With completion of phase one and two, approximately 51,000 m² of office space and approximately 32,000 m² of assembly rooms were built.
The third construction phase covers an additional GFA of approximately 38,000 m² and, alongside additional office space, also features a new plenary chamber with seating for 1,500 for joint assemblies of the Senate and the House of Representatives.
